WalkQuest is developed and published by Cenk Goktay. This page explains how you can request the deletion of your account and all associated data, in compliance with Google Play and Apple App Store data-deletion requirements.

How to Delete

Option 1 — Delete from Inside the App

If you can still log in to WalkQuest, follow these steps:

  1. Open WalkQuest and go to the Profile tab.
  2. Tap the Settings ⚙️ icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap "Delete Account".
  4. Confirm by typing DELETE when prompted.
  5. Your account and data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

Option 2 — Request via Email

If you can no longer access the app or log in to your account, send an email with the email address or username associated with your WalkQuest account so we can locate it.

Your Data

Data That Will Be Permanently Deleted

When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently and irreversibly removed:

Profile Information Name, username, profile photo, bio Deleted
Walk & Territory Data All walks, routes, claimed territories, GPS tracks Deleted
Progress & Achievements XP, level, streaks, achievements, challenges Deleted
Social Data Friends list, leaderboard entries, feed posts Deleted
Authentication Email, hashed password, OAuth tokens Deleted

Data That May Be Retained

Certain data may be kept for a limited period due to legal, security, or operational obligations:

Transaction Records In-app purchase history (required by tax law) Up to 6 years
Anonymized Analytics Aggregated, non-identifiable usage statistics Indefinite
Fraud / Abuse Logs Security logs to prevent abuse Up to 1 year
Retained data is either anonymized (cannot be linked back to you) or held only as long as legally required, after which it is permanently deleted.

Deletion Timeline

Request acknowledged Within 48 hours
Account deactivated Immediately upon confirmation
Personal data purged Within 30 days
Backups cleared Within 90 days
During the 30-day grace period you can contact us to cancel the deletion and restore your account.
